Tchaik 2 is FUN! :tuba: My fav out of the first 3 Tchaikovsky Symphonies.

I recently performed Tchaik 2 along with Brahm's Academic Festival Overture and a couple other pieces last weekend, so my ears are fresh for it. Wish we had the funding to record them though :( Played them before with different orchestras.

Anyway, what section are you talking about the tuba sounding/being "late" on in Tchaik 2? Are you talking about the 8 bars of fast 8th-rest/8th-note off-beat section with bass t-bone in the last 4th movement? Or later on in the last 4th mvmnt, 8 bars with bass t-bone starting on a D? I will try to listen for those sections  But I think you will be fine since you are already aware of those 'sneaky' sections. Will try to remember to listen to it tomorrow :!:

Just listened to the webcast. That's a very fine orchestra :)
I couldn't hear you at all in the first mvmnt except a little bit in the soli section at the end with trombones, and could kinda hear you in the last one. But I think it's the way it's orchestrated and the way the webcast is mic'ed.
From what I could hear, you were right with the brass; no "late" tuba. No probs 8)

Wish I could get to one of today's concerts. I'm in Memphis for work, but had morning meetings and a lunch and now I've got a dinner tonight. Now I'm in the hotel room finishing a presentation for tomorrow afternoon. Oh well. As they say, that's why they call it work.
