NOTE: The difference between this workshop and a conference? A conference lets you walk in the candy store and sample a few things. This workshop lets you walk in the candy store...AND EAT EVERYTHING! :) (BOTH are important in their own way!)

There are other camps - but nothing compares to the experience you'll have at the Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium Workshop. Just ask any of our past participants - they'll tell you why!

KEEP SCROLLING DOWN!

CHECK OUT WHAT FORMER GUESTS HAD TO SAY:

"If you want an amazing musical experience this summer, you must check out the Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium workshop! You'll not only hear world-class musicians perform, you'll get to work and hang with them! Students experience amazing growth during this camp and form bonds that will last a lifetime. I had a ball working with the caring staff and teachers and you will too."

Marty Erickson (former guest)

"The Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium Workshop, organised by Mike Milnarik, is a fabulous experience where students of all ages can learn with the pros!"

James Gourlay (former guest)

"The CTEW is one of the best opportunities for interacting with professionals in a workshop setting. The depth and variety of the guest artists and ensembles is truly wonderful. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fulfilling experience."

Don Harry (former guest)

"When I was a guest artist at the Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium Workshop I was impressed by the level and interest of the students and the artists. Mike is a great organizer and it was a wonderful experience for all. This is a a great summer festival for students of all levels--there is a lot to play and learn."

Jim Self (former guest)

"I highly recommend CTEW to any tuba or euphonium player. CTEW provides performance opportunities, world-class instruction, network building, individual attention, ensemble skills, and, most of all, FUN! CTEW is tailored to provide a great experience for all levels of player. Whether you are an interested amateur or a motivated music major, this workshop is guaranteed to help you meet your musical goals."

Lauren Veronie (former guest)

COMMENTS FROM SOME PAST PARTICIPANTS:
(Comments from ALL past participants on our website!)

“Being a very cheap and skeptical person, I was not sure about how the quality of the workshop would compare to the price and if it would all be worth the time and money to come despite how many recommendations I got from many of the former participants and guest artists. However, after attending I can very confidently assure anyone who is doubting the quality of the workshop and the amount of growth they will see in their playing due to it, that it is definitely worth the price. Not only will you get to work and hang out with on a daily basis some of the best performers on our instruments, but you will also get to meet tons of other participants who are committed to learning and improving as much as you are in one of the best and most friendly atmospheres for doing so I have encountered.”

“My 5th year and Mike has outdone himself once again. I am no longer surprised in Mike’s ability to make this workshop bigger and better each year!”

Allen Walker
Adult Participant 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011

“Once again CTEW was awesome! Having the two week option let me learn even more than before but I didn't feel burned out at all. It was really fun and a great experience!”

Stephanie Mundel
8th Grade Participant 2007 / High School Participant 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011

“CTEW is something that is difficult to put into words. It's a camp that Tuba and Euphonium players can go to get better right? Well, this is only about a tenth of it. For me, CTEW is the focal point of the year, because it is the greatest experience of my life. Before this year's CTEW, I had many things happen to me that left me emotionally down to the point where I stopped practicing on a daily basis like I used to. But when I finally got to CTEW everything changed. Not only did I get back to start practicing again, but I also learned a lot about myself and got some great advice at CTEW from the many professional artists there. Oh, and by the way, these artists will blow you away by both how great of players they are and also by the inspiration that they can give. I never knew what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go in my life before coming to CTEW my first year, but every year makes my life and my outlook on the future a much better than I could ever imagine. And the camp is worth much more than it's price, probably about ten times more if you think about it. There's Masterclasses, Group Ensembles, Small Ensembles, Clinics with world renown musicians, Concerts, and even just a simple warm up every morning to get your day starting strong. But this is only the bare surface of it. The atmosphere at CTEW is amazing, and not once did I ever wake up thinking "uugghh, not again" because I really loved being there, and I would recommend anyone who wants to both get better as a musician, and to have a great time doing so to come to next year's CTEW, no matter the cost.”

I can vouch for this program.

Including this year, I will have attended 5 of the 7 Cosmopolitan Tuba and Euphonium Workshops that Mike has held. Access to the artists is great. It is as strong for euphonium players as it is for tubists. In addition to master classes, performing a recital piece, and daily brass workouts, you also perform in ensembles (both a large tuba-euph ensemble and a small quartet). Also, every afternoon and/or evening we hear recitals by the finest artists and groups, brought together for the workshop.

Unlike other programs targeted at those from 12-20 years old, this program is set up to work for everyone from high school and college students to mature adults in their later years (like me!). The oldest attendee last year was 76, and the youngest in their mid-teens.

You should strongly consider the C-TEW for your summer study., If you are student, the two week program gives you an intensive workout for your chops and focus on development of your skills with the finest teachers. If you are older like me, the one week program provides a great break from your summer routine and the opportunity to refocus and refresh musically.

Cannot wait to work with the amazing faculty and participants at the FINAL Cosmopolitan Tuba/Euph Workshop! It is one of the trips that I get excited about all year! If you can make it out to this event it would be worth it. :-)

This was a truly amazing experience last year for me. I come from a very small rural area where exposure to these sorts of events is very hard to come by. It was a joy to be with so many other Tuba and Euphonium enthusiasts from all walks of life and at all ages. I believe the range of youngest to oldest spanned 60 years!!! I am just as excited and anxious to go to CTEW again this year. I'm actually a member of the staff and can't say enough to encourage and recommend this workshop to anyone who just wants to be a better musician.

-You have great access to all the guest artists and clinicians

-Private Lesson from professional faculty

-solo, chamber, and large ensemble performance oppurtunities

Again, I can't say enough...there are still a few more spots left and you won't regret joining us.
