I welcome you all to the new season of the Greenwich Village Orchestra at a new location this year.

Smetana, Mendelssohn & Sibelius

3pm in Old Stuyvesant Campus (near 15th St and 1st Ave, Manhattan)

This will be a very interesting concert for me if my wife goes into labor early. Be prepared to be thrilled!

Due to hurricane Sandy this concert in cancelled and may be rescheduled at a later date. Power in that region of town is out, and it is not known if will be restored before this weekend. Additionally, the subway system to the region is crippled. More info at a later date.

Update: Concert This weekend! Due to Sandy and the rescheduling, we have a new soloist: Aaron Boyd.

Additionally we have quite a few changes in instrumentalists, as people had conflicts with the new dates. I am looking forward to the concert this weekend. As always, stop by and say hi to your friendly neighborhood sleep-deprived tubist!
