This year's U.S. Open Brass Band Championships will be on Saturday, November 3rd in St. Charles, IL. I will be exhibiting there, accompanied by Charles Hargett, sales manager for the Kanstul Company. We will have an array of Kanstul instruments available for play-testing and purchase, as well as a new shipment of Stofer-Geib tuba mouthpieces, Mike Finn tuba, euphonium and tropmbone mouthpieces, and a few Kanstul, Bruno Tilz, Bach and Rudolf Meinl mouthpieces. I will have Hetman professional lubricants and Slide-O-Mix available.
In the Kanstul line, if all goes well the Kanstul 5-valve 5/4 BBb will be there, and the 66-S 5-valve Eb. We will have new Kanstul euphoniums, and I may have two very nice pre-owned euphoniums there to show. One is a Boosey & Hawkes 3+1 compensating euphonium, the other a Courtois - Paris 4-top-piston full euphonium.
This year's event promises to be be a memorable one, with a record number of bands and participants. I should remain non-partisan, however I must say, "Go, Eastern Iowa Brass Band!"
