UM Low Brass Workshop Competition

January 25-26, 2013 the University of Memphis will be hosting a Young Artist Solo Competition held at our annual Low Brass Workshop.

The competition is open to any high school or undergraduate student. Registration for the competition is very affordable and the repertoire is selected by the participant.

Young Artist Competition Awards:
First Prize: $250 and an invitation to open the guest artist recital on Saturday, Jan. 26
Honorable Mention: Up to three participants will receive an invitation to perform on masterclasses by David Vining (trombone) and Fritz Kaenzig (tuba).

Judges for the competition will be:
Trombone, David Vining - Northern Arizona University
Euphonium, Manfred Heidler - Robert Schuman Hochschule for Music, Dusseldorf
Tuba, Fritz Kaenzig - University of Michigan
