Tchaikovsky Extravaganza

March 10th, 3pm in Old Stuyvesant Campus

Pierre Vallet, guest conductor
David Heiss, cello
Tchaikovsky —
Polonaise from Eugene Onegin
Variations on a Rococo Theme
Symphony No. 6, Pathétique

I can honestly say the brass is sounding very nice on this concert. Pierre is magnificent, and I am very grateful for him taking time from his schedule at the Metropolitan Opera to conduct us! I have not heard the soloist yet, but as he is a member of the Metropolitan Opera also, I am very looking forward to hearing the first half of this concert in the audience with great anticipation.

Here's the concert. Really good moments, a few interesting snafu's, but I am pretty happy with my performance, but I won't deny a few chipped notes. Life music in its glory!

Tchaikovsky's Pathetique as performed on 3/10 by the Greenwich Village Orchestra, Pierre Valet Conducting (Metropolitan Opera):
