The 2013 Southwest Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference is coming up next week (May 2-4) at the University of Redlands in Redlands, CA and I just wanted to fill all of you in on this exciting upcoming event. Featured artists will include Roger Bobo, Pat Sheridan, Norm Pearson, Jim Self, Jeff Anderson, Micky Wrobleski, Loren Marsteller, Deanna Swoboda, Richard White, Matt Tropman, James Shearer, Alex Lapins, Dave Holben, Las Tubas de Tucson and the Rolling Thunder Tuba Quartet (Beth Mitchell, John Van Houten, Phil Keen and Jeremy Swem). For those interested in the competitions, we will be hosting a mock orchestral tuba audition as well as a mock military band audition. The prizes for the winners total to about $650 in cash and gift certificates in addition to playing in masterclasses by Jeff Anderson (SF Sym) and Matt Tropman (Univ of Pacific).
