MWRTEC Next Week!

Hi all,

Just a friendly update on MWRTEC. First of all, the conference kicks off a week from Thursday on February 17th at Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal, IL.

Exhibitors will include:

Woodwind/Brasswind
Custom Music
The Music Group (Besson 900 series BB-flat should be there)
Hickeys Music (buy your recital rep/jury piece at MWRTEC!)
Mark Chalabala "Bass Clef Creations" & "Tuba Views"
Brian Frederiksen "Windsong Press"
Jim Kelly Mouthpieces

Also, here's a brief rundown of the events. Remember, the conference rate is $35 ($25 for ITEA members). Or you may attend for just 1 day on a day pass ($15). There are also event passes for single events ($5). All of which are to be paid in cash or check at the registration desk as you arrive into the lobby of ISU's Center for the Performing Arts.

12 PM Prelim Rounds for Mock Auditions (Tuba & Euph)
3 PM Rex Martin Recital/Clinic
5 PM Brian Frederiksen presents "Arnold Jacobs-Almost Live"
7:30 PM UW-Eau Claire Tuba/Euph. Ensemble Prelude Concert
8 PM Illinois Brass Band with soloists: Tom Bough, Ben Pierce, Mike Forbes, Demondrae Thurman, and Matt Tropman

Friday, February 18, 2005:

7 AM Quartet Competition Prelims
9 AM Mock Orchestral Tuba Audition clinic with adjudicator discussion
10 AM Mock Military Band Euph. Audition clinic with adjudicator discussion
12:45 PM Univ. of Illinois Tuba/Euph. Ensemble Prelude Concert
1 PM: Phil Sinder and Nat McIntosh (Sousaphone Warrior) Recital
2 PM Ed Livingston Tribute Recital: Rex Martin, Carlyle Webber, Ed Risinger, David Zerkel, and Marty Erickson
4 PM Univ. of Arkansas Tuba/Euph. Ensemble Prelude Concert
4:30 PM Recent Winners Recital: Mike Veale, Ben Miles, Mark Carlson
