Eli's Allstar's, "Lovestruck in Salem," Salem, MA,

Post by enewberger »

The Saturday April 17 gig is another all-star aggregation (now we've got some 4 gigs behind us, things are jelling; and each individual guy is unbelievable): Bob Winter, piano, Dave Whitney, trumpet, Ted Casher, clar. and tenor, Brad Terry, whistling and clarinet, John Baboian, guitar, me on tuba, and get this, 4 brilliant Berklee student singers: Christy Bluhm, Jeremy Ragsdale, Lucas Madrazo, and Angela Rossi. Once again, it's sponsored by the Salem Athenaeum, and there will be a dinner (reservation only, just like the concert) at 6:00. Music and dancing at 7.
A totally wonderful evening. Calls to 978-744-2540. Eli Newberger

Lucas Madrazo It seems that since leaving the womb, Lucas Madrazo has always had music in his life. Born in Toledo, Ohio, (the home of Art Tatum and Jon Hendricks) into a musical family, he studied piano and violin from the age of six. He later discovered his love for singing after appearing in numerous theatre productions around the Toledo area. Midway through high school, Lucas started sitting in with and learning from area jazz greats at Rusty’s Jazz Cafe and Murphy’s Place under the tutelage of Toledo/Detroit jazz legends Ramona Collins and Claude Black.
