Twin Ports Wind Orchestra
Patrick Sheridan
Patrick Sheridan is one of the most celebrated soloists in the tuba’s history. He has performed more than 3,000 concerts in over 50 countries in venues ranging from the White House to NBA half-time shows to the Hollywood Bowl.
At 20 years old, Patrick became a member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. During his military service, he thrilled audiences with his amazing virtuosity and musicianship as one of the band’s primary soloists. Since then, he has become an incredibly diverse artist with concert performances transcending stylistic genres. He has been featured in t.v. and radio broadcasts on 4 continents including NBC’s Today Show and NPR’s All Things Considered and Performance Today. Patrick maintains a busy international career with more than 75 concerts annually.
The tuba is sometimes an under-appreciated instrument. It is more than just the 'oom'. Patrick Sheridan will not only show you that the tuba can play anything, he'll also show you just how much fun the tuba can be.
Winter Concert
The Best of the Twin Ports Wind Orchestra
Exciting News.
The Twin Ports Wind Orchestra has been invited to play at the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) Mid-Winter Clinic this month. MMEA 'believes that music is basic to the human experience. The study of music allows us to develop aesthetic sensitivity, self-expression and creativity; to build community; to preserve and honor cultural heritages; and to celebrate life. MMEA's mission is high quality music education for every student.' We are honored to be a part of MMEA. If you find yourself in the twin cities area on Valentine's Day, come on over to the Minneapolis Convention Center. We are performing at 3:45p in room 101D.
If you're not going to be able to make that, don't worry you have another chance. On Sunday, February 16th we will be performing our winter concert in Duluth. We're calling it 'The Best of the Twin Ports Wind Orchestra.' The concert starts at 3p at Duluth's East High School Auditorium. We will share the stage with East High School's Band and several of their band members will be performing with us as part of our honors musician program.
But wait, there's more.
For both concerts we are bringing in Patrick Sheridan, a world famous Tuba player. Patrick's musical virtuosity is amazing, but he is also highly committed to education. In 2001, Patrick founded The Institute for Performance Success. This ‘peak performance’ training institute is dedicated to bringing fresh and innovative learning environments to performers, teachers, executives, athletes and others seeking ‘peak performance’ in their careers. Patrick is also the co-author of the world’s best selling breathing method for instrumental improvement, The Breathing Gym.
Oh, and Mr. Sheridan has been known to 'dress the part' when performing on stage. This is one concert you definitely don't want to miss.

Does he have a new website? I'd like to look at his materials for sale, but patricksheridan.com does not seem to work.

Well now doesn't that just suck for me? I was at MMEA and didn't go to the Twin Ports concert, rather choosing to go to on of the discussion clinics instead. Had I been on the internet I would have checked Tubenet and seen this before and changed my plans, but my hotel charged for internet so I deemed beer more important than internet and missed it
