On April 12th Marshall University will host “Tuba and Euphonium Day 2014.” Our feature guest soloist is Velvet Brown, International Tuba Artist and Professor of Tuba & Euphonium at The Penn State University.
Events will begin at 1:00 PM with an opening concert featuring The Marshall University Tuba Euphonium Ensemble “Tubonium” and a guest tuba/euphonium quartet including John Keys, Michael Stroeher, Tyler Davis, and George Palton. Following the opening concert our feature guest will present a clinic. To conclude the afternoon, Ms. Brown’s recital will include a variety of innovative compositions for solo tuba along with Alanna Cushing on piano.
Marshall University Department of Music faculty member Dr. George Palton will host the events in Smith Music Hall at Marshall University. Admission is free and open to the public.
