Maryland Community Band Day- June 8, 2014

Ten of Maryland's best community bands will perform at the annual Community Band Day, held this year in Williamsport, MD which is near Hagerstown. Performances begin at 11 AM.

We believe the "Stars and Stripes Invitational" tradition will continue this year- that's where the famous Sousa march is the last piece of the day, and any visiting band member who wants to can join the host band onstage to play it. However, this has not been confirmed. Last year, Baltimore Symphonic's tuba section increased by two-thirds when the time came to play this march, so it was well worth seeing.
