For one, "Birth of the Cool" had a Gil Evans sequel named "Into the Hot"with similar instrumentation.

Both l.p.'s featured works of John Carisi. ..The Evans more prominently. Carisi was simultaneously composing jazz and dodecaphonic compositions.

I used to play dixieland at the Yankees games with Johnny. He was a wealth of knowledge and of course had a million stories.
