Two performances of "Scenes from Der Ring des Nibelungen" will be presented by The University of Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, April 22, at 7:30 in the Mannoni Performing Arts Center on The University of Southern Mississippi campus in Hattiesburg, and the second performance will be on Saturday, April 24 at 8:00 p.m. in Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson, Mississippi. The two performances are complete with vocal soloist, dancers, lighting, and I believe some sort of projection screen. I am playing the tuba and doing the best I can to keep up with the huge brass section, 3 trumpets, bass trumpet, 5 horns, 4 Wagner tubas, 2 tenor trombones, 2 bass trombones, and 1 tuba. I think it will be worth a ticket if you are anywhere near either of the two performances.
