The Third Annual Bar Harbor Brass Week - August 15-21, 2004
The Bar Harbor Brass Week is an intensive educational and performance experience for high school brass musicians, sponsored by the Mark Woolman Horner Music Education Fund. The exciting week of music will take place on the beautiful campus of the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine.
An extraordinary group of high school participants will be selected to form a brass choir and chamber ensembles to prepare for performances in Bar Harbor. Daily activities will include rehearsals, masterclasses, and private lessons- all led by our faculty, featuring Blair Bollinger, bass trombonist of he Philadelphia Orchestra; and the Extension Ensemble brass quintet with: Ralph Alessi and Sycil Mathai, trumpets; Theo Primis, horn; Mike Boschen, trombone; and Andrew Bove, tuba.
Applications, Audition Tape requirements, and other information are available at: http://www.barharborbrass.org
Photos and audio samples from past years of the Bar Harbor Brass Week are also available on the website.
The application deadline is June 15, 2004.
This festival has been a great success for the past two years... In addition to some great music-making; it’s inexpensive, the food is incredible, and the location is beautiful. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions! -Andy
