The faculty brass quintet at the University of Mississippi will play a recital on April 20. Music for this semester was chosen for use on a series of public school performances. Our goal was to keep the music approachable for the average high school listener. (No Etler, Jan Bach, or Sampson this time!)

Bach Contapunctus IX
Friedman Spanish Dances
Ewald Quintet No. 1
Ewazen Colchester Fantasy
Renwick Dance

Tuba will be used on Contrapunctus IX, and on the Ewald where the entire quintet will be playing conical instruments (cornets instead of trumpets, euphonium instead of trombone). Bass trombone will be used on the Friedman, Ewazen and Renwick.
