Each year one of Maryland's community bands hosts an all-afternoon concert featuring bands from all across the state. This year it's Bel Air's turn.

Location is the William Humbert Amphitheater at Shamrock Park (a.k.a. "the band shell") at Lee Way and Hickory Avenue in Bel Air.

Admission is FREE. The concert starts at 1 PM and features the following bands:

1:00 Baltimore Symphonic Band
2:00 Montgomery Village Community Band
3:00 Olney Concert Band
4:00 Williamsport Community Band
5:00 Rockville Concert Band
6:00 Columbia Concert Band
7:00 Bel Air Community Band

This year Maryland Community Band Day will be at an outside venue that you can bring your family, have a picnic, enjoy the concerts, walk around, etc. It is an informal concert in the park. This year Maryland Community Band Day is part of the Bel Air Summer Concert Series that takes place Wednesdays and Sundays through much of the summer. The musical offerings are varied from concert to concert. If any TubeNetters show up please come up and meet our tuba section.

P.S.
We will be fielding 85 musicians for the concert (the tuba section: 3 Alexanders, 1 Zeiss and 1 Schiller).

Also, the weather forecast for Band Day looks pretty good, but if it rains, we'll move it to Bel Air High School, 100 Heighe Street (at Kenmore Ave).

No Neal this year?

Went great. Next year it'll be in Williamsport, which is just south of Hagerstown. They hold it in a converted barn and the bands sound great in there.
