ITEC 2016

Postby Michael Bush » Sat Apr 30, 2016 10:50 pm

Though it seems obvious that the International Tuba Euphonium Conference is coming up, we ought to have a thread here about it. It's a pretty amazing lineup. I'm very pleased as an amateur with the return of the Low Blowers Ensemble. The whole thing is going to be good, though.

I'm still hoping to go, but it's a hell of a drive from Texas

Mark,

You can sleep here on the way (and back)...as long as you don't show up drunk...again...

HahaHaha! might take you up on that. You going all 6 days? That's longer than I was planning on. Too much to tuba for me (and too much time away from work)

I can't stand in front of a table and smile in an elephant room for SIX FRIGGIN' DAYS.

prolly Thur-Fri-Sat.

I'm staying on a friend's couch there (another Memphis refugee). We'll probably get really reminiscent over a some Double Black each evening. (He's in STF on fb.)

got it fixed with a work around. The link for registration info if your ITEA membership has expired was not working, but I renewed my membership and was able to access the registration page

I'm going! (just Monday and Tuesday however)

yep...pricey...thus the "sleeping on a friend's couch" thing...

plus...If I'm going to be away from work for SIX days, (I love you guys, but...) I ain't just going to Knoxville and listening to conversations between tubas.

Two weeks to go!

I hope to be able to meet a lot of you there, please come up and say hi. I'm easy to find, 6 foot 8, mostly grey goatee, and on Tuesday I hope to be wearing a shirt that looks like my avatar

Wish I could stay longer, but my daughter has a solo performance on Wednesday night back in Dallas, so after the Jim Self concert on Tuesday I'll be driving back to make it home in time

We'll despite paying extra for rush service, the t-shirt did not arrive in time. I'll be wearing either a UTA alumni t-shirt or a Adrian Beltre American League all star Jersey.

Either way, I'll be easy to spot in a crowd. Please don't hesitate to say hi
