Yeah, yeah, I know this is last minute.
I'm producing a TubaChristmas in Napa CA this year for the first time. I believe it's the only one in the SF Bay Area. I'm actually being sponsored by the Napa Parks and Rec Dept. In fact, they called me! Nice!
Here's the skinny:
Registration at 9:00, rehearsal at 10:00 until 12:30 at the Napa High School band room, 2475 Jefferson St, Napa, CA
Show at 2:00 at Veteran's Park, 800 Main St, downtown Napa. It's a beautiful outdoor ampitheater amid all our great restaurants and shops. It's about a ten minute drive from rehearsal to show, so there's plenty of time to go have lunch and relax.
Go to http://www.naparec.com to pre-register, or just show up for registration/ rehearsal. Of course, there's the usual listing at http://www.tubachristmas.com
If anyone has any suggestions for a smooth show, I'd love to hear them. I used to play Tony Clements' shows and was always impressed how well they seemed to go. I'm kind of using that for a template. I produced a small tuba ensemble show (20 players) in September '15 that came out pretty good, so it's not like I'm a complete newbie, but there's always something to be learned!
