Memorial Service for Mark Freeh, Sat. Oct. 28

Post by hup_d_dup »

A Memorial Service will be held for Mark Freeh on Saturday, Oct. 28, at First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, 326 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell, NJ. Mark died of cancer on Sept. 30. In 1991, Mark was a founding member of Imperial Brass, and was actively playing in Imperial Brass until a few weeks before his death.

Mark studied tuba with Bill Bell at the Manhattan School of Music, and had a lifelong association with Harvey Phillips. But he was best known as a bass trombonist and arranger of brass band music. Mark's arrangements are played throughout the brass band world, especially in the UK where he is well known.

The service will begin at 10:00am, and before the service Imperial Brass will perform prelude music that was meaningful to Mark, starting at 9:30am.
