The Long Island Tuba Quartet (still going strong with the original personnel for the past 20 years) will play a concert on Long Island at the Bay Shore Band Shell, in Bay Shore on Tues., Aug 9 at 12:30pm. This will be the first time Jeff Furman and myself will be playing Yammy 621 CC's, making us an all Yamaha tuba quartet. A good time will be had by all! Attendance is required!
Good Luck

Thanks for asking, BrownHammer. LITQ consists of Don Sherman and Michael Canipe on euphoniums and Jeff Furman and myself on tubas. Don and I are school band directors. Michael is a retired music administrator and Jeff is a computer programmer. We all mangage to stay reasonably active playing professionally in various ensembles on Long Island. LITQ began around 1984 as an ensemble formed to perform at our county's Tuba Day event, which I have been chairing the past 25 years. Here's our program for next week's concert:
Russian Sailor’s Dance Reinhold Gliere / arr. J. Kelly Diamond
Washington Post John Philip Sousa / arr. Mark Benson

Hey all! It's this Tues. You won't want to miss it, if you're in the area. Then, you can drive to Yankee Stadium to watch the Yanks beat the White Sox!!!

Today's LITQ concert in Bay Shore was cancelled due to heavy rain. Sorry, especially for those who were coming from far away lands just to hear us play!! At least the rain should wash away the geese crap all over the place!! I'll post again if they reschedule us!!
