Looking for a deeper mouthpieceI currently have a conn helleburg and am looking for a mouthpiece that shares the same kind of rim (flat, thin) but with a deeper cup. I've seen the PT-50 (not really sure about the rim width on it, though) and MF3-H, but I want to know about any other options that I don't know about.
Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceThe Sellmansberger (a.k.a. blokepiece) Symphony model is, I think, a deeper mouthpiece that might be of interest to you even though its not strictly a helleberg. I picked it after a long period of trying many different mouthpieces (including the mouthpieces you list), and I haven't found another deep mouthpiece I like better. You can get different rims for them, including narrow, flat ones.

Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceI always did enjoy "bombardment!"
Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceA Wick 1L is pretty deep. I don't know if it's deeper than a blokepiece, but it's pretty deep. 1.28 cup diameter, fairly narrow rim, slightly rounded. With its large throat, it plays even deeper.

Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpiecePT-50 has a wide and very rounded rim.

Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceI really, really like the MF 3-H, and based on what you're describing, I think it's worth your time. It's a kickass big helleberg-like mouthpiece, and pretty much exactly what you're looking for.
I'd check out Marcinkiewicz, too. The rim on the H1 is pretty dang close to a helleberg rim, and the depth is pretty substantial. The Perantucci rims are really cushiony and wide, and aren't going to do it for you.
Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceI doubt that my Symphony model cup is much - if any - "deeper" than a Conn (120 or 7B) "Helleberg".
bloke "just better". Ask about or order Sellmansberger mouthpieces at 901-465-4739 or click the email icon.

Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceAccording to my crude measurements, depth is the same on Marcinkiewicz H1 vs. Kellyberg.
But, two points that come up in the process:
Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpiece
Agreed, the Symphony is a medium deep mouthpiece. The difference is in the cup and throat shape. ![]()
Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceThe regular Helleberg is 1.30" inside.
In my mouthpieces I offer a Flat Narrow rim option that is the same as the Conn Helleberg shape. So a Flat Narrow 130 is basically a copy of a Helleberg rim. My T cup is deeper than a Helleberg, but basically the same style of cup.
Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceI know somebody who has a Dennis Wick 1L, I'll ask them about trying it. My experiences with marcinkiewicz mouthpieces were... sub par. I'll look into the blokepieces and Doug Elliot mouthpieces. Thanks for the replies.
Re: Looking for a deeper mouthpieceI switched from the Conn to a PT-88+. It has a nice deep cup. I tried a PT-50 and a PT-88 and went with the PT-88.
