Outbox
Hello folks,
I'm very confused by what would probably be a self-explantory email/PM system. I've tried to send a certain member PMs and emails via this system and have found that my outbox has two messages still sitting there. In the right column they say they were sent in the past, but I haven't heard a reply from the person and it's odd that they're sitting in the outbox still. I have no confidence that they've actually been sent.
Thoughts?
Brian

Re: Outbox
If the messages are still in your outbox... the recipient has not read them.

Re: Outbox
Very weird. Now I have three in the outbox. I sent a test message to a buddy of mine here maybe 30 minutes ago. I wonder what I'm doing wrong or if my account is somehow limited by being a relative newbie here.TubaTinker wrote:If the messages are still in your outbox... the recipient has not read them.

Re: Outbox
Plus it's so odd that it gives me a date and time the message was allegedly sent. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Outbox
OHHHHH. So you they sit in the outbox until the recipient has actively opened them? But they have been sent and are awaiting viewing? I'm just trying to clarify.
If so, it's counter-intuitive, but at least I understand it. I just wanted to make sure the messages were actually sent. Thanks!

Re: Outbox
Exactly!
Send me a PM if you'd like, you can see it in action.
Don't worry, it's not intuitive... and I'm sure I've asked (or wondered!) about this before.

Re: Outbox
Okay, great. That helps a lot. Now, does the outbox handle both 'email' and PM? What is the functional difference?
Thanks for being patient. Hopefully this thread helps some other folks, too.

Re: Outbox
Okay, the Outbox is ONLY PM. Even more counter-intuitive, but I get it now.

Re: Outbox
So if I send a PM it sits in the outbox until actively opened and presumably viewed. If I send an email, the system uses the activation email on file and sends en email to the recipient via the TubeNet proxy. Obviously I can't see the viewing status of that, but I trust that they will receive it.
I understand now. Hope this helps someone in the future.
