I think I would be extremely ironic to restrict what can be said and where, for Chinese tubas. It would give the full quasi-communist experience.

Re: A Chinese Tuba Discussion Ghetto, Please!
Some tubas made in *_________ are very good, some are good, some less than good and some are not good. Some players like tubas made in *________, some players don't. Some dealers of *_________ tubas are good, some are bad. Some people object to the government where the tubas are made, some don't. Some tubas made in *__________ play great for the money, some don't. Blah, blah, blah...
* China, Germany, England, Switzerland, The United States, Japan, Brazil, India, etc...
What have I missed?

No tuba has been manufactured in Sweden after 1958, when the company Ahlberg & Ohlsson closed down.I would be interested in a tuba made in Sweden.
This company is and was highly reputated for their high quality brass instruments which still have a high collection value.
If performing with autentic instruments in septetts or sextetts, one comes in the first place to think about Ahlberg & Ohlsson.
All types of rotary instruments where made.
Please see some pictures here: https://www.google.se/search?q=ahlberg+ ... sson+tubas" target="_blank
Regards,
Lars

PS -- there is a ton of Swedish culture, influence, and heritage here in the Twin Cities... and a lot of good looking people.

I'm not interested in restricting what can be said and where. Let it all be said here, on TubeNet. Say whatever you want. Just say it all in one thread, or in one forum. That is my point and hope.bort wrote:I think I would be extremely ironic to restrict what can be said and where, for Chinese tubas. It would give the full quasi-communist experience.
This was done a few years ago on another board I participate in related to a sports team. A group of people kept wanting to rehash over and over again the same debate about the coach. Nothing genuinely new ever got said. The admins created a thread for the coach debate, and whenever anyone started something outside that thread, the new thread was merged into it. Worked brilliantly.

Wait! .... there are Chinese tubas? Where can I get one?bloke wrote:I believe that what has been omitted here is that
