Paid ad placement

There is a paid ad in the middle of my last post. It looks like part of my message, especially since part of my post was to reference a commercial product.

Is it now normal to place ads in the middle of posts, rather than between them?

Just went back to the thread, and the ad is gone. In fact all the ads in that thread are gone (there were others).

Must have been a glitch.
