Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Any hope for a French C Tuba?
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?I've heard there is.
I'm intrigued by the idea of a cimabasso wrapped like a tuba, basically a bass trombonium. Bell forward (removable bell) and it would be compact enough one could travel with it easily. It could be in F or Eb, maybe both, since it would be a cylindrical instrument
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?
You may be in luck! ![]()
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Any more teasers regarding the CC helicon?
Prototype status? A photo mockup? Napkin drawing?
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?A french c tuba would be so great!!!!
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?
Why?
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?
For me it would be a do all. I play a lot of 1st tuba parts in quintets and in ensembles, and find myself playing a great many baritone gigs these days. It would be nice to not have to take a different axe to every gig.
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?
Certainly for French tuba players it was a do it all tuba for over 100 years
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?I agree a french c tuba would be a great all around horn, you could play euphonium parts while also covering tuba parts, it is the best all around instrument to do that.
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like? How about a contrabass trumpet or a contrabass french horn both modeled after Roger Bobo's instruments
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Is there a reason the Michigan is being discontinued?
It seemed to be a really solid horn.
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?
The main reason is we have new piston valve BBb tuba of similar size of our own design coming out to replace in the Wessex range. That shares the valve set of our CC Wyvern tuba, and will be similarly a great player and solid horn!
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Wagnertuben?
EDIT: Oops, already one there.
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like? How about and improved design/knockoff of one of them tuba belts/slings that cost too much??
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Apologies if it has been mentioned already but a 5 Rotary Valve Front Action Euphonium?
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Yes!!! Perfect Bydlo horn
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Ok, here is an easy one! With the pictures of horns on your website, include a schematic type picture detailing the dimensions of the instruments. Outer bow circumferences, widths, distance from point A to B etc. We want to be able to make sight unseen impulse purchases with confidence.
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?
Bump :)
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?Nothing more for now. We have planned and will be out 2018
Re: Wessex Tubas - what would you like?I don't personally want one, and I get that Wessex is no longer really the company to produce it, but I continue to wonder why no one has had an instrument made in China that references the 187/188.
