The new Mighty Gnome CC travel tuba (tornistertuba) is now on the Wessex Tubas website and we are taking orders from first batch, expected early July.

Differences on production 'Mighty Gnome' to prototype illustrated will be gold brass bell to warm tone, strengthening stay on main tuning slide, adjustment screws on rear valve caps and lead pipe slightly angled away from bell for greater comfort holding (and to move bell away from left ear)
I played prototype with band today and was well satisfied with the results. It is very free blowing, has good tone and tuning, and the 1lb lighter weight against the BBb Mighty Midget is noticeable when playing standing for period. In fact I am going to be playing it exclusively in Spain next week at INTERSOLFA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL where I am playing with Wessex Military Band 27-30 March.
