Tony George played the Wessex Bb ophicleide in performance of Donizetti's Les Martyrs with The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at Royal Festival Hall, London - 4th November 2014.
In the couple weeks before he used for recording new CD of the work with the orchestra.
Before the concert Tony test played the prototype new C ophicleide and found it plays very well, with only one minor change before going into production. Interesting listening to the differences in tone between C and Bb ophicleide - reminded me of the difference between bass and contrabass tuba.
