New front piston Eb tuba

Post by Wyvern »

For your interest here are CAD drawings of the new Wessex Gnagey Eb tuba which we expect to have out early next year. It was developed specially for Wessex Tubas by the renowned Sam Gnagey and is an incredible tuba. Everyone who has tried the development prototype has been more than impressed! We think this will be the best Eb tuba available at any price for those that prefer front pistons?

The exact design may be tweaked in consultation with Sam Gnagey and the factory, but the drawings give a good idea of the nicely balanced design.

The tuba uses the same bell and bows as the Wessex 'Solo', so has 16.75" (420mm) bell and a real characteristic Eb tuba tone. The bore is 0.689" (17.5mm) and the tuba is non-compensated with 5th rotary valve.

I will post more on this exciting new tuba once there is further news...
