The superb new Wyvern CC tuba is now on website and we are taking order, although first batch in August is small.

This is a tuba that more than one professional has proclaimed on trying the best CC tuba they have ever played.

Personally on comparing to Nirschl 6/4 I have found it plays very similar - almost like its baby brother!

Very handsome. Is this an original design?

Yes it is original design, although some features are inspired by other tubas

To me it kinda resembles a MW6450 Baer, just slightly smaller.

Does this share parts with the Excelsior compensating BBb?

The main tuning slide hangs pretty low... Could it go beyond the bottom bow?

Otherwise, it looks very nice and seems like competition for the Eastman or J Packer (?). Interesting emerging market of higher-end Chinese instruments!

Actually if you look carefully the main tuning slide is out about one inch in that photo. This one of UK professional, Tim Norris (now very happy owner of the prototype) holding shows how far it actually projects better.

The slide layout is inspired by the Baer, but the Wyvern is slightly smaller in the bows

No it shares nothing with the Excelsior. Does share the same bell as TB580 Michigan BBb, but that is all. But the bows and stainless steel valves are new manufactured components. Expert impartial examination at ITEC confirmed the valves are well made.

The bell is 0.8mm gauge gold brass, 84% copper. All slides are nickel and the leadpipe is also gold brass.
