Igor Martinez visits Wessex Tubas to make videos

Postby Wyvern » Thu Aug 25, 2016 8:36 am

I have Igor Martinez of the Simon Bolivar Orchestra (Venezuela) visiting Wessex in Andover the weekend September 3rd and 4th to collect his new Wyvern CC tuba, Solo Eb and Dolce euphonium - have test played them when visiting the UK earlier in the year.

Igor has kindly offered while visiting to record demonstration videos of any of the tubas in the Wessex range people want to hear. So please put in your requests here. If we have in stock, and time permitting a video will then be posted on YouTube and on the Wessex website.

Honestly, do as many as he will gracefully do for you. The ophilclide, both contrabass trombones, the rotary euphonium, cimbasso, and the travel tubas are all instruments that have the highest "unknown" factor, and they would probably be very interesting videos

Igor has already posted videos playing the Wessex Bb ophicleide on Facebook (the Simon Bolivar Orchestra bought two when they were in the UK earlier in the year). If you friend him on Facebook you will be able to view. The first video was only after one month of ownership. I was amazed how quickly he learned to play at high standard. A very talented young man!

No Ride and no Fountains. No farting down low or squealing up high. Play real, and representative stuff.

Thanks.

PS -- "Wessex you would like video demo?" hardly sounds like the Queen's English to me...

It is in the Sponsors section, but as global announcement.

it already is in the sponsors area, but I'm not sure how it became a global announcement. I thought only administrators and moderators have the ability to designate a topic as such. This is far more appropriate as a standard thread. I have changed it

Also the bass trombone and maybe even the prototype two-valve tenor if you have one around would be awesome!

Get him to play test everything you have for as long as he possibly can. I should think he would enjoy extending his stay in England for as long as possible, and not returning to Venezuela!

It's a reflection on the crime rate in Venezuela. One of the worse crime and murder per capita rates in the world
