Tubas for Sale at Grady Instrument Service

Post by tubaben »

Hello all,

I have several excellent tubas for sale right now (see pictures at http://www.merlingrady.com)

Miraphone 1291 5 Valve CC

This one is here on consignment. It has been cleaned out with bumpers/felts/corks replaced, new valve guides, and I swapped out the waterkey bow branch where some red rot was beginning. This horn is in really good shape and plays extremely well. It could be a good all around horn for a college student. It comes with a Cronkhite gig bag. The tuba is currently out at our Waterloo, Iowa shop, but if not sold in the next couple months will return to it's owner in Cincinnati.

$7250

B&S/Miraphone BBb Frankenhorn

You can truly have a unique horn with this one. To my best knowledge, the body comes from a B&S horn, and the bell is a Miraphone. A weird German marriage has produced a really good sounding horn. The bell is in really good shape with no cracks. The valves are refitted with a nickel finish, so the tuba has really excellent compression. This one is definitely worth playing.

$3500

Meinl Weston 45 SLP F

This tuba is in brand new condition at a great price. Not only is the 45SLP a great F tuba, this particular example plays very well in comparison to it's counterparts.

$5750

Miraphone 383B "Starlight"

Also in new condition except for a slight imperfection in the silver on the bottom bow.

$6250

Check out these and a few other tubas at http://www.merlingrady.com. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
