I am pleased to present you two new Wessex trombones designed by Chuck Nickles (ex-US Army band, Europe)
On the left is our new large bore (0.547”) PBF549 tenor trombone which is fully handmade and has in the slide tuning. It has regular rotary valves and you will note the distinctive Wyvern cut-out brace which we are also fitting to future sackbut. It can be made different thicknesses of metal to balance for the particular instrument.
On the right you can see Wessex new PF588 F contrabass trombone. This also has regular rotary valves and comes with slides for valves so the D trigger can be changed to C and the Db trigger changed to Bb.
Both trombones will be availble 2018 together with Wessex new bass trombone, PBF565 designed by Chris Stearn - pictures and details of which I will post later after production prototype is approved by Chris.

What position is the contra's bell at? Does it have a regular length receiver?
