Is this a BBb horn, Eb? Thanks for posting. Looks like a Yamaha 621 copy? Would be cool to have a 5 valve BBb option.

Thanks for posting Mark. This is a CC and the pitch is great. The horn has a lot of pop and easy to change color of sound as needed. I will be expecting more in stock starting around Jan.

Judging from valve button placement, this horn seems to offer comfortable (that is: natural, non-twisted) wrist position if the following is adhered to:

- make sure your right forearm is oriented perpendicularly to the bell axis when approaching the valves.

- since that forearm will likely approach the valves at some angle from below, slant horn TO THE RIGHT.

In order to make this easier, I´d suggest the leadpipe to be moved so it passes the bell on the INNER side, somewhere between bell and the rest of the bodywork.

Another approach: realign the valves, so the imaginary line connecting buttons 3 and 4 is parallel to the bell, rather than the line connecting buttons 1 - 3.

At least that´s what I´d wish for in a new horn of my dreams.

I know Tom McCaslin has a Yamaha that he has the bigger bell. It's basically the cc tuba version of the Yamaha YFB-821.

The first picture is the better picture. Also, it’s not an 822 bell.

Cheers.

It’s a Yamaha bell. The dimensions are just completely different than an 822. Along with the diameter being smaller, the throat and bottom bow are much different than an 822. Both are great tubas!

The first picture is way better but it is easier to see the instrument in the second one.

I ve read that It will only comes in silverplate. I think It is better to assume It is a YFB 821 "Roger Bobo" bell for the dimmensions, but I could be still wrong.
