**Mack Brass** Army Conference and Huge News

Post by MackBrass »

Mack Brass is pleased to announce that we will be introducing several new instruments at the upcoming US Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop! We’ve been working hard with the craftsmen at ZO for the last couple years to develop a new line of instruments that we are very proud to offer at Mack Brass! These tubas were developed for musicians with the highest standards at the collegiate and professional level, but priced low enough to be accessible to a much wider range of enthusiasts. You will see some brand-new tubas in BBb, CC, and F in the 4/4, 5/4, and 6/4 range, as well as our amazing new pro euphonium, and the rest of our lineup. We would like to invite you to come by our booth and give them all a try!

We’re also excited because this will be our first appearance as an exhibitor at a large conference. Mack Brass has always been a family business, and we take pride in not only offering affordable instruments we feel confident putting in the hands of any musician from student to pro, but also in providing the best customer service we possibly can. As some of you know it can be challenging to manage the details of a growing business while working on an expanding product line and seeing to the needs of every customer to the best of our ability. We have recently been able to spend more time on such things as planning and appearing at the upcoming workshop, developing our new products, our new logo, our newly rebuilt website, expanding our accessory line, and several other peripheral activities due to the addition of our new team member.

With that, we’re very pleased to introduce Dr. Christopher Lair! Chris is our new Operations Manager, and will be involved or advising in all aspects of the company. His previous positions include Assistant Director of Bands and Low Brass instructor at The Evangel University, Tuba - Euphonium Instructor at The Missouri State University, and Affiliated Tuba Artist with Drury University. He has held principal tuba positions with orchestras in Florida, Kentucky, and Missouri where he was commercially recorded and published, as well as serving as a tuba player in U.S. Army Bands. He also enjoyed working with middle school and high school students for over 10 years as Director of Bands in Missouri High Schools. In addition to North America, his guest soloist and clinician appearances include Europe, Central America, and The United Kingdom. His music degrees are from The University of Kansas (BM, MM) and The Florida State University (DM). He studied music education at The Southeast Missouri State University. In addition to his background as a musician and educator, Chris has also held management positions in retail music, where he was recognized by the Kansas City Star as one of the city’s “upcoming business professionals”. Chris took advantage of his time in the music business to gain experience as an apprentice in instrument repair. Chris lives in the Richmond, VA area with his wife Sharla, their son Jackson, and their two beagles “Frank n’ Berry”. His extracurricular activities include motorcycles, martial arts, and enjoying the outdoors with his family. Chris is looking forward to meeting you at our booth at The Army Tuba-Euph Workshop Exhibitors area, so come by and say hello!
