Hi! Did y’all ever make a sousa bag?

If not, I know the gigging sousaphonists that offered to help last time are happy to consult in the design process.

I had to bite the bullet and get a ProTec a couple months ago. They still use the maddening upside down accessory pocket. To no one’s surprise, my new silver gooseneck slipped out and got dinged up. There has to be a better bag!

Well, I got it started a couple months ago :D and then re-prioritized it down the list a ways :( ...

The bag is mostly designed (using a 20K). The fabric and lining has been cut. I needed to order a different type of foam. I have that now, so I just need to entice Kirley down to the shop sometime to figure out backpack placement. And, yes, the pocket is oriented the right way!

I also have the current (?) Protec. Meh. Upside-down pocket? Just proof that it was designed by a non-sousaphonist.

Hey, Tom!
Sorry about life getting in the way of things. It has a nasty habit of that.
I'll give you a :tuba: tomorrow.

I think it would be cool to start a thread asking what folks would like to see in a new sousa bag. You know, crowdsourcing. It's a thing. Sometimes people have ideas. :D

Yes, I have several in stock for MODERN 2341's. Clamshell and Top-Loaders...

Clamshells are in Black and maybe one in Burgundy (need to check) and Top-Loaders are in Vintage Navy, Smoke, and Burgundy.

Old-style 2341? I don't have one in stock but I would be happy to make one.
