I don't have it yet... but I am saying that I am willing to pay what it takes to be the owner of it. The seller said that he had Anderson plate the valves, but that he lapped them in himself. That doesn't inspire confidence in the quality of the job, but we will see.tubatooter1940 wrote:Congratulations, Lew, I was lusting after that beauty, myself. I hope it plays as good as it looks.

King Raincatcher
I would also be interested in a full, detailed report of the instrument once it's in Lew's possession.
One hour left to go!
Lew, are you really staying up this late, or are you employing some version of sniping software?
I'm so glad this isn't a BBb....then I'd have to stay up, too!
I find it fascinating that this isn't the same horn once owned by Phil H in Florida. Now I know of the existence of at least two!

Re: King Raincatcher
I will let you know once I receive it. I use sniping software if there's something that I really want. It sold for a little more than I was hoping, and I suspect that I would never be able to sell it for more than this, but it's rare enough that I expect it would be hard to find another like it.tubahed wrote:I would also be interested in a full, detailed report of the instrument once it's in Lew's possession.
