Ludus .MP3 posted on Cimarron Music Press site

Post by BVD Press »

Dear All,

I just wanted to let everyone know I have posted a recording of Ludus - Nelhybel (Tuba Trio) on the Cimarron Music Press website:

http://www.cimarronmusic.com

I have also posted a .pdf sample of the first page of each movement.

It can be found by searching : Ludus or Nelhybel or 1065

The 3 players on the recording are:

Cameron Gates, John Cradler, and Tom Holtz

I believe all three are regular posters on TubeNet.

Thanks for posting this, but seriously. $17 for an MP3  The piece isn't that long to warrant the full retail price of a CD. In the age of iTunes, I don't thing even the geekiest of tuba geeks would pay that much, and I'm a pretty big geek. MOFWIW

That's $17 for the sheet music, which is well worth it.

That's right, I didn't see the little music notes to click on the right. I bought the sheet music. I just clicked the mp3 recordings link and was directed to the page listing music.

Thanks for clearing that up!

I believe the price in the past was $30.00 (from another publisher). The new edition was dropped down in price because the way technology works today I do not need to print 100 or more copies at a time. Many of the pieces in the Cimarron catalog have been adjusted as I work my way through the re-engraving process. Some up and some down, but hopefully they will be much more consistent.

If you happen to be a Nelhybelk fan, please check out th other titles on the Cimarron site. There is a tuba solo, etude book, duets, etc. More to come.

In Denver, we will release a never before published trio for Viola, English Horn and Tuba. To my knowledge it has never been performed. I have a manuscript copy of the score and no one would have have been able to perform form it because it a mess currently!

We will also a book of Tub Trios. Not too difficult, but maybe a good work for High School tuab players.

Wishing everyone well,
