I don't worship Carol. I would like to marry her, however.

It would have to be a virtual convention. We all meet in the chat room on this site, while drinking our favorite beverage, and chat from about 9:00 pm on Friday night, Los Angeles time, until Midnight on Sunday night, Los Angeles time. Use Skype for recitals.

You shouldn't complain. I said LA time. 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time Friday is 05:00 UTC Saturday (no one uses GMT anymore). Midnight Sunday Los Angeles time is 08:00 UTC Monday.

Even BBC switched a couple of years ago. It's the same thing except that it stands for Coordinated Universal Time. It isn't that I am dealing with tuba players. I am dealing with a few tuba players who don't go to other parts of the world.

Since when are tuba players supposed to think? This may not be a good thing.

I'll go to other parts of the world. The amount of fun I have when I get there has to be sufficient to justify the expense.
I use GMT on my GPS. Sometimes daylight saving time throws a monkey wrench into my calculations and I get deeply lost in the Gulf of Mexico.

You do know that GMT and UTC are the same thing. GMT isn't used anymore because Greenwich, England, goes on Summer Time (Daylight Saving Time).

Re: the original topic: I've always thought of TubeNet as BEING the worlds longest continuously-running convention. You have the obvious common interest, food, beverages, industry gossip, product roll-outs -- the only things missing are over-priced hotel rooms and hookers!

Chicago - Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is Lyrics

As I was walking down the street one day
A man came up to me and asked me what the time was that was
on my watch, yeah
And I said
Does anybody really know what time it is
I don't
Does anybody really care
care
If so I can't imagine why
about time
We've all got time enough to cry
Oh no, no

And I was walking down the street one day
A pretty lady looked at me and said her diamond watch had
stopped cold, yeah
And I said
Does anybody really know what time it is
I don't
Does anybody really care
care
If so I can't imagine why
about time
We've all got time enough to cry
Oh no, no

And I was walking down the street one day
Being pushed and shoved by people trying to beat the clock,
oh no, I just don't know,
I just don't know
And I said, yes I said

Background Vocal:
People runnin' everywhere
Don't know the way to go
Don't know where I am
Can't see past the next step
Don't have to think past the last mile
Have no time to look around
Just run around, run around and think why

Does anybody really know what time it is
I don't
Does anybody really care
care
If so I can't imagine why
about time
We've all got time enough to die
Oh no, no

... maybe he just wants to show us his cars that have a lisp! :)
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
