When I was in high school, you could write to Mirafone, when their office was at 8484 San Fernando Road in Sun Valley (Los Angeles) and they would send, absolutely free, the first tuba solo album that Roger Bobo made. Even with the avant garde "Encounters II" by William Kraft, it was all very fun for anyone who took a listen.
I still think this is a good recording for a new tubist. Listen to Effie.
You can find this on Crystal Records. There might be a cassette of it on sale--they are trying to clear out all of their cassettes.
