has anyone out there used the Maggio tutor Book ?does it work ok for Tubas, or are there problems when pivoting and trying to keep the embouchure anchored in the low registers.Any info would be useful.It seems to be primarily Trumpet and trombonistswho are aquainted with it over here.

I am not familiar with that book. I like the trumpet version of the Arban book. The Ernest Williams book is good, too. I am sure if it works with trumpets, it should work with tubas. The difference, besides the two octaves betwen the instruments, is that, arguably, our false tones use different fingerings. Also, you can pretty much use any fingering you desire for anything over C above the staff.
