Tuba / Violin duets.
Anybody have experience with a duet with a violin? How well do the two work together? Thought I'd ask around before buying the music.

I think Frackenpohl has a piece for violin and tuba.

Unterkagner Ländler, Koetsier
Jan Koetsier has written a 6 movement work (totalling about 7 minutes) for tuba and violin duet called "Unterkagner Ländler." It was written as a sort-of "barn dance" tune for the people in the remote German town Unterkagn, just a bit northeast of Munich.
I have recorded this unique piece (it works especially well, by the way) with Jenny Gregoire (Demondrae Thurman's wife) on my new solo CD that will be released on Summit Records at the ITEC at the end of June. The CD is called "Forbes Plays Koetsier" and features the 7 tuba solos penned by that outstanding composer (still alive at 95!!) The CD features the tuba with 1) brass ensemble 2) horn quartet 3) soprano 4) violin 5) piano 6) pipe organ and 7) string orchestra.
...thing is, I'm not sure how to get a hold of the music (Unterkagner Ländler) anymore. I found a copy in the music library at Illinois State. As far as I'm aware it's out of print. Email me if interested, and perhaps I could get you copy.
Hope this helps,
Mike
