The Brass Bow Web site
Anybody know how to get onto there site?
Everytime I try I get the FORBIDDEN page.
Maybe its just a temporary problem, but if anybody has a clue, I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks, Pat

Both of these links work for me. First one is Jim Fox's store and the second is his forum.

This is a totally different organization from The Brass Bow. The Brass Bow was owned and originated by Wayne Tanabe, who is now working for Yamaha. Maybe they closed when he left?Rick F wrote:Both of these links work for me. First one is Jim Fox's store and the second is his forum.

I just spoke with Ken Novotny at the Brass Bow. The web site has not been updated and links are not being maintained. The BB is still in process of being sold to a new owner.
Meanwhile, the best way to contact them is by 'phone:

you may have to leave a message buy someone will get back to you ASAP. Their hours are generally M,T, and W from 11:00 to 5:00 and some hours on Friday, but the best suggestion is to call first.
BTW: Chicago had brass dealers all over the place before 1980. They're all gone. There are close to 8 million folks in the Chicago/Milwaukee metro area, yet the closest major brass dealer, WWBW, is 100 miles away. Yes, you can buy the occassional "beater" baritone or french horn here and there but, other than that, it's zip. C'mon guys, someone open up a tuba store here. Why should Baltimore and New Jersey have all the fun???

I have communicated with Lee within the last few days. While still getting settled, I think he'll be fully up and running well before next Spring. His new place, which is in a beautiful town right on the Mississippi, is still three hous west /southwest of me. Fantastic as I think Lee is, we still need a tuba joint in Chicago. Maybe I can get a grant from Bill Gates.
