To You Besson Guys...

I've been chasing my tail trying to find parts for a Besson Prestige euphonium. Buffet has purchased the Besson name so I called their parts department this morning. I was told by Rodney in the Buffet-Crampton parts department that information about ordering Besson parts would be made available to repairmen in September at the earliest. Sooo... if you need even simple stuff like valve guides and felts, it's going to be quite a wait. If anyone on this forum has stocks of Besson pars... specifically euphonium valve guides and felts, please send me an email.

Those poor people at Besson are so messed up! Two years ago Lee Stofer ordered a slide reciever for a 943 Bass trombone and we have yet to see it. Everytime he would call them someone else would be in charge of parts. I finally just gave up on the project. I love my Besson but I am resigned to one fact. If it breaks I'll just have to get something else.

Thanks for the tip. I sent them an email. They offer a few parts on their website. Among them are finger buttons for a Besson Prestige euphonium... at over 12 pounds a pop! Yikes

It's what they don't have on their site actually, a whole back room full of stuff. You'll need to find someone there who knows what you are asking for and can get back to you maybe?

my student in Brandon had a valve guide wear out, I got him to put a watch screw into the delrin where it should be sticking out.

Had to wear out just after Besson went under.

She thinks you're asking about a new instrument or something under warranty. You may have to actually call them up.

There's no mistake. In my email to her I specifically said I was a repairman and needed to purchase several sets of guides and felts. Even if they are just 'blowing me off'... I really can't blame them for not wanting to mess with only a few dollars worth of parts!

Heh whats his name, how old is he????? A college student? Maybe I'd like to meet him some day

Anyway, how do you know when its about time your valve guide or felt is about to kick the bucket.
