Marzan Receiver Size?
Finally the new Willson 2975 leadpipe and reciever arrived and with some rebending Rich Ita successfully fitted it to the old Marzan Euphoniuum. I think this is as close to the original I will be able to get. It really opened up the low register and I was really surprised at how well the compensating system works down to B2. I don't have to use any crazy fingerings and it is relatively well in tune. The upper register was not comprmised in the least. In fact the tuning has improved. The receiver is advertised as US Bass Trombone shank but all of my Bass Trombone MPs wiggle around a tiny bit. Any ideas?
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Have your repair guy take a good look at it--it might be that there's a blob of solder where the receiver joins the leadpipe preventing a solid fit. Or the receiver could be out of round. A bass trombone shank fits my 2975 without any wiggle.tbn.al wrote:Finally the new Willson 2975 leadpipe and reciever arrived and with some rebending Rich Ita successfully fitted it to the old Marzan Euphoniuum. Marzan Receiver
Chuck gets the prize. There is in fact a blob of solder down there. I can see it. I'll take it back to Rich and ask him to clean it out.
