BBC Tuba Rest Extension?

Post by MichaelDenney »

The consensus on a previous thread was that the Baltimore Brass Tuba Rest is the best of breed. However, Baltimore Brass doesn't offer an extension tube for stand-up playing. Has anyone tried making an extension tube for it? There aren't any photos of the Tuba Rest on the BBC site that would allow me to judge how to do it.

I contacted Baltimore Brass several times this Summer when my DEG stand broke and was informed that the BBC tuba rest is no longer available. If you do not have one already you might need to look at the K&M as the next best option.

I spoke with BBC yesterday and they have new tops in. Once the summer shcool band repair rush is over they will be assembling their Tuba Rest for sale. Last time they a groulp ready for sale they went within two weeks. If you want one I would call the store and order one. They will charge your card when they ship.

If you need them now, I have two of them to sell. Leftover from a show - just did not want to ship them back to BBC.

So has anyone tried making an extension for their BBC stand?
