Mouthpiece Recommendations

If you find it hard to accurately get the high notes, just practice. If you're happy with all the other notes with that mouthpiece, then high notes should'nt be a reason to change.

Oh boy! Another mouthpiece thread!

Conn 7B seems to be on the smaller side but still has enough flow to let you do the low notes too. Except that's a Helleburg style.

Although I have gravitated to the Conn 1792-2 for my main mouthpiece, I still like the Yamaha 66D4. It has a smaller diameter bowl, thick easy to play rim, and a big throat for easy low notes. The tone isn't as big and robust as some of the bigger mouthpieces, but the tone is still decent, and it's easy to play.

A plain old 25 can do a pretty good job of getting you the high notes if you can learn to relax right to get the low notes with it. If you can't get the high notes with a 25 (or Yamaha 65), then you're gonna have to have patience and persistence and work on it until you can do it.

There is a reason a TU21 is shipped with a 186. A good reason. Goes right along with this thread, threads regarding intonation, threads regarding low range, etc.
