Need a tuba part for "Sing We Now of Christmas"

Post by davidgilbreath »

My church orchestra is playing the Mark Hayes arrangement of Sing We Now of Christmas and the third 'bone part (which I'm playing on tuba) doesn't have enough guts written for it, IMHO. I don't possess the ear to come up with my own. Any suggestions?

Hi David,
Get a copy of the string bass part - play it down an octave. Leave out the obvious string stuff and play mostly when the other brass is playing.

That's a really good arrangement - I'm sure my church orchestra will do it sometime this year.

Cheers!
