Well said, Richard.

I'm afraid the "text-messaging" phenomenon associated with cell phones (and probably other devices) has helped create a problem that apparently isn't a problem to the "text-messaging" crowd.

I don't have a cell phone or similar device, and have no intention of getting one.

And the whole idea about writing properly, concisely, and accurately is music to MY ears.

I beg your pardon!

As long as a stay away from dairy, I'm just fine, thank you.

Say that really, really fast.

What? Does this mean you can't go to Tillamook? What about your grammar? Does she have to avoid a dairy too?

Sung to the tune of "Jada" as I recall.

I also seem to remember that Sarah "fixes frogs for Friar Tuck".

Please note: punctuation, grammar and spelling are important. When you ignore them, you increase the likelihood that people will dismiss you. This will not seem to be very significant until you have to write a term paper, fill out a job application, or write a technical report for an engineering firm. Of course, ignoring proper English syntax will also draw comments of annoyance from many on this list, as we have seen. Also worth noting is that if one is planning on a low-tech, low-paying job, then one may feel free to ignore this paragraph. "wood U like fries w/ that 2" may do just fine if that's all you aspire to as a profession. (Matt. 13:9)

Also note: "The sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick." Short, sweet, diabolical.
