Gig bag repair

Post by UTTuba_09 »

What would be the best means of getting a gig bag repaired? The two shoulder straps on mine are wearing out fast, in fact, one has torn off completely, would a shoe repair place be able to fix it?

gig bag repair

Hi Eric,
My old reunion blues bag had a problem where the straps just kind of wore out/disintigrated. I took it to a custom sewing place in Madison and they replaced the straps with car seatbelt material which works really well. The job was super-cheap!!! and I think those straps will last forever. Too bad that bag is languishing in my buddy's house 9 hours away...But I digress:

Any luggage repair place would be able to do a bang-up job.

What's amazing about all this is that we have found something that apparently can't be fixed with duct tape. Somebody should notify Associated Press about this.

Not to mention WD40...
